About me

I'm Sarah (they/them) and I offer counselling, mediation and sexological bodywork to people online and in person in Neukölln. I have been seeing clients in private practice since 2021 and before that I practiced for over ten years as a human rights lawyer in London. I was drawn to human rights work because I knew I wanted to centre social justice in my life and to think critically about power. These values continue to be important in my work as I help people to explore how power and social systems shape their relationships and bodies.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
GSRD (Gender, Sexuality & Relationship Diversity) TherapyRecommended for those seeking affirmative support and guidance while navigating the complexities of identity, sexuality, and relationships.
Narrative therapyRecommended for those who want to rewrite the way they view their life story and feel more empowered in their personal journey.
Systemic therapyRecommended for those who want to understand how their relationships and environments influence their behavior and emotions, particularly within family or organizational systems.
I support people in finding their way through relational difficulties in the hope that their lives become more joyful. People tend to describe me as warm and approachable and I use these qualities when exploring how clients might mobilise their strengths and resources to reduce the impact of problems in their lives. I am often moved by people’s courage and creativity in this process and my aim is that our conversations bring hope by making new possibilities visible.

I specialise in working with sex and conflict, drawing on my experience as a sexological bodyworker and a mediator. Having trained in systemic practice, I am attuned to the ways in which problems between people can be transformed, whether this be within families, couples or non-monogamous constellations.

Much of my work is with people from marginalised groups, including clients who are sex workers, BIPOC, queer and/or trans, as well as those with a migration background. I am attentive to the ways in which oppression in social and political contexts contributes to the problems people face in their interpersonal relationships. I have worked extensively with couples from different cultural backgrounds, navigating the richness and complexity that this brings to relationships. I also have experience of working with couples where one or both people have a psychiatric diagnosis.

Experience

I have been working with clients in private practice since 2021 and also work with Pineapple Support, a charity providing mental health support to sex workers.
