About me
As a highly-experienced psychotherapist, I offer a safe and supportive space to help you develop a better relationship with yourself and others. We will work together to lessen the impact that past difficult events have had on you. We will also work towards establishing a better connection with your body and emotions so as to be more authentically yourself.
You're welcome to get in touch if you want to:
… get to know yourself better
… develop in a more holistic way
… improve your mood and manage depressive or anxious feelings
… connect more deeply to your body and emotions
… explore your sexual or gender identity or alternative relationship formats
… heal through the impact trauma
… improve your relationships
… explore your life purpose
I have more than 13 years of experience as a psychotherapist, counsellor, coach, supervisor and somatic sexuality practitioner. I am a state-licensed psychotherapist in Malta and am accredited by BACP.
I am specialised in working with trauma and with sexual, gender and relationship diversity, including LGBTQIA+, kink and non-monogamy. I am also trained as a ketamine-assisted psychotherapist and continuing further my training in the use of therapy in combination with altered states of consciousness.
Apart from running my private practice, I have worked in various settings including LGBTQIA+ organisations, educational institutions and the fire brigade. I set up Orange Bodies where I run workshops about using the body to connect more deeply with oneself (orangebodies.com). I have also published a self-development journaling book entitled: 'Living Better with Yourself – A Practical Guide to Embodied Growth' –(thehorsesmouth.michaelconti.net)
> I work in English and have a very good understanding of Italian & French.

My approach
I use an integrative and holistic approach in my work. This means that I draw upon all the tools that I have learnt depending on what is most beneficial for you. These tools include psychotherapy, coaching, psychology, trauma neuroscience, EMDR, counselling, mindfulness, embodiment, breathwork and somatic sexuality.
As an integrative therapist I don’t try to fit you into a single way of understanding what it is to be human. Instead, I use different approaches that I’ve been trained in to respect the multi-faceted reality of human experience. These approaches include cognitive-behavioural, psychodynamic, humanistic, relational and body therapy. In my trauma-informed work, I place a strong emphasis on the body and emotions while aiming at integrating different parts of oneself.
I also work with people who want to prepare for, or are seeking to integrate, altered/expanded states of consciousness.
