About me

I am originally from Berlin but I studied psychology and trained as a psychotherapist in London, where I graduated in Psychology in 2006, and have been running the psychotherapy group practice 'The London Practice' since 2013, and founded 'The Berlin Practice' in 2021 when I relocated back to Berlin. I work in private practice with individuals and couples, and as a trainer and supervisor at the InKontakt Gestalt training institut. I also run my own self development workshops and offer creative sessions in our practice on Prenzlauer Allee 23. I offer group and/or case supervision for therapists, coaches and people working in the social sector and in consulting or leadership positions. You can find more information on the Supervision page. As a coach, I work with founders, leaders and teams, who want to better understand and develop themselves and the culture they create together, with a particular focus on dealing with conflict and corporate mental health. I am recognized as a Gestalt Psychotherapist and Supervisor in the UK by the largest psychotherapy association there (BACP) and I work within their ethical principles and professional standards. At European level I am recognized as a Gestalt therapist by the European Association for Gestalt Therapy (EAGT) and in Germany additionally by the DVG (Deutsche Vereinigung für Gestalttherapie).

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CoachingRecommended for those who want support and motivation to achieve personal or professional goals, often with a structured, goal-oriented approach.
Gestalt therapyRecommended for those who want to focus on the present and take responsibility for their feelings and actions to promote personal growth.
Systemic ApproachRecommended for those who want to look at how different systems—like family, work, or society—affect their behavior and relationships.
The main therapeutic approach I trained in is called Gestalt therapy - a humanistic approach, which explores our present experiences in order to better understand the various coping mechanisms we have learned over time, and which may need to be 'updated'. By becoming more aware of how we are contributing to our current situation, relationships and problems, we can become more choiceful and able to change. I try to meet you from one human being to another, rather than treat or analyse you. I will work slightly differently with each client -what you will get is me, in relation to you and what you bring, rather than a fixed approach or school of thought. I work with a focus on creative ways of coming to new insights and actionable practices for you to get the most out of your therapy process, drawing on my additional training in Systemic therapy, Supervision and broad professional experience as a coach and consultant.

Experience

12 years in practice5 months at It's Complicated
I have worked in HR, running my own business giving creative classes and professional/career coaching/business English communications since graduating with BSc Psychology in 2006. I finished my first Diploma in Gestalt Counselling in 2013 and have since ran two private practices, seeing mainly adult individuals there, and completing my PGD in Gestalt Psychotherapy two years later. I have worked as a start-up coach, team coach, head coach for a coaching business (now called the Sanctus Group, based in London, where I still coach), and a team leader for newly training psychotherapists in their final years at The Awareness Centre London. I have additional trianing in Systemic Couples Counselling and have worked with couples for the past 7 years, although this has not been my main focus. In 2021 I completed a Relational Supervision training with Relational Change, and have worked mainly as a supervisor and trainer since 2022. In Berlin I have worked as consulting Psychologist in a social project (government funded model project), focusing on running workshops on Resilience, Mental Health Awareness, Mindfulness, Stress Management and other mental health topics.
