Georgia Ribes Zankl

I was born into a multicultural family (Spanish/German). This early exposure to both cultures gave me a deep understanding of both cultural backgrounds, which helps me today in my work with multicultural couples and immigrants.

I earned my degree in psychology from the University of Valencia. Initially, I was interested in how the brain works, which is why I specialized as a neuropsychologist (ISEP), (GNP) and worked in this field for several years. My focus was on epilepsy (Epilepsy Center Berlin Brandenburg) and comorbid disorders (ADHD, ASD, trauma, and memory disorders), as well as dementia.

To complete my training—and because I have always been interested in people’s life stories and how they might be influenced—I completed all the necessary training to become a systemic therapist (SG) and a trauma therapist (BIF, OSI).

Systemic therapists seek associations and connections; I am interested in the connections between life stories, emotional and cognitive symptoms, and diagnoses (ADHD, autism, epilepsy, etc.).

I have written a book on this topic (Los soñadores, 2018)

Since 2012, I have been working in private practice, currently in Berlin Schöneberg as an individual and couples therapist (sexuality, among other topics).

In addition, I organize events, exhibitions, and workshops on sociocultural topics such as loneliness, guilt, and migration.
