"It's not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters." - Epictetus
We are all born wired for connection, we want to be happy and find meaning in what we do, and yet sometimes we feel disconnected, distressed or confused. Whether you are strugling in your relationship, with issues of communication, closeness and conflicts or facing individual challenges in your every day life, you are not alone.
Together with my clients, I aim to create a space where things can be explored with curiosity and kindness. We take time for looking more closely at how things actually are, and ask questions that can take us on new roads and hidden alleys. I am often inspired by my clients and am moved by how far we humans can grow and evolve when our own self-healing processes are supported, and when we are willing to meet ourselves and other with compassion.
I use a systemic approach, and also draw from emotionally focused therapy (EFT), attachement therory and buddhist ideas and practices. My practice is inclusive, trauma-informed and open to people of all gender identities and orientations, to different relationship forms, and to people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. I am queer and trans myself and am proud to call Berlin home since 2001.
Couples therapy: A crisis can be an opportunity for greater growth and honesty, even if it doesn’t feel that way at first. Sometimes it’s about facing a new challenge as a couple, such as decisions regarding having children, opening up the relationship, or rebuilding it after an affair. Using systemic approaches and tools, we explore how you can better deal with problems in your relationship, improve communication and make your partnership more vibrant. Whether you’re struggling with conflicts or communication issues, or want to strengthen your bond – I’ll help you create a safe space where you can explore, learn and grow together.
Individual therapy: Life is a constant process of change, and we humans often find change difficult. It is easier to navigate difficult times when we have a safe space to reflect and dare to discover new and old aspects of ourselves. We will work on building better relationships with yourself and with others by developing greater self-awareness and self-compassion. This enhances your sense of agency and confidence, enabling you to express yourself more effectively in the world.
