I support individuals and families through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My goal is to strengthen resilience, reduce stress, and help people find ways to live in alignment with their values in everyday life.
My name is Elif Chorengel, and I support individuals who are experiencing stress, challenges, or burnout symptoms and new transitions in their everyday lives. Through my work, I create a space where people can find support, strengthen their resources, and make daily life feel lighter and more manageable again.
My professional journey has taken me from international work in the field of behavior analysis to my current practice with adults and children in Germany. These experiences continually remind me how essential it is to consider each person’s unique life circumstances, values, and needs. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to provide practical tools that help reduce stress, make space for difficult emotions, and build lasting resilience.
In my sessions, I work closely with my clients in a collaborative, respectful, and down to earth way. Together, we develop strategies that are practical, sustainable, and truly applicable to everyday life, whether in personal relationships, life goals, or professional challenges. My aim is to open pathways that foster hope, create relief, and support a life lived in alignment with one’s own values.
My therapeutic approach integrates principles of Applied Behavior Analysis with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to provide practical, values based support that centers on my clients’ needs and overall well being.
In my sessions, I support clients in making space for all of their emotions and in making decisions that are aligned with their values.
My approach is collaborative, strengths based, and practical. I build on existing skills, support clients in navigating challenges, and foster resilience, calm, and a life guided by personal values.
I began my professional career as a behavior therapist at an early intervention center in New York, USA, where I worked with autistic children between the ages of one and four. I then expanded my experience by working in a kindergarten in Istanbul, Turkey.
After relocating to Germany, I worked as a behavior consultant for seven years before founding my own practice, Starke Schritte (Bold Steps)
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey, USA, and my Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from Queen's University Belfast in Belfast, Northern Ireland. In addition, I have completed further academic training in Applied Behavior Analysis and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I also hold two international certifications in Applied Behavior Analysis, which provide a strong foundation for evidence based, client centered work. My experience includes supporting children on the autism spectrum and their families, as well as individuals and families navigating a wide range of life circumstances.
