I've been a creative arts psychotherapist for the past 12 years (MA Dance Movement Psychotherapist) where I've supported people with worries about mental health, identity, and relationships.
I've specialised in providing therapy for people with serious health issues or long-term conditions - including cancer and HIV. I also work with people who have a dermatology condition which affects their skin, or who are dealing with a change to their appearance through illness or injury, including scars.
More recently I've been training in psychosexual & relationship therapy, where I can support people with emotional or psychological issues which are impacting on intimacy, pleasure, or connection with other people.
As a neurodivergent therapist I'm welcoming of people bringing their whole self to therapy - there can be pressure to get it "right" or nervousness about what might happen in a therapy session, so I try to find out what you might need to feel safe & relaxed enough to open up.
I use creativity and embodiment (being aware or mindful of how your body is feeling) to help you to connect to your emotions or your worries, and look at the situation from a new perspective.
I draw on eclectic approaches to see what works the best for you, but I'm influenced by psychodynamic therapy, body psychotherapy, feminist & queer theory, and mindfulness.
