Approach

Treatment Approaches
Person-centered approachRecommended for those looking for a supportive, non-judgmental space where they can lead the conversation and explore their feelings at their own pace.
Psychodynamic therapyRecommended for those looking to explore their emotions deeply and understand how past experiences shape their present life.
Psychotherapy Recommended for those who want to work through emotional or mental health challenges by talking with a trained psychotherapist.
I am a psychological therapist working part time with the NHS. I've been a therapist for over 15 years. I've been privileged to work with countless people from all walks of life. I know how hard it can be to take that first step and reach out for help - it's easy to feel isolated and hopeless. You might feel like you're the only one going through this. My approach is rooted in empathy and understanding. Counselling can really help and I'm dedicated to creating a safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. You can contact me through the site for a free consultation. This would be 20 - 30 minutes, and would be an opportunity for you to say what's on your mind, offload a few things, and decide if you wanted to go ahead.

Experience

Hi. I am an NHS therapist with 15 years of experience. I work with people struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, family issues, and longer term emotional health challenges. My background spans crisis intervention, long-term therapeutic support, and collaborative work with multidisciplinary teams, all aimed at fostering resilience and improving well-being within the community.

Education

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Hull University, providing a strong foundation in human behavior, cognitive processes, and developmental psychology. Building on this, I pursued a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Surrey, where I specialized in understanding the dynamics of individuals and groups within organizational settings, focusing on areas such as stress management, conflict resolution, and employee well-being. I successfully completed a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) approved Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. This rigorous program equipped me with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience in various therapeutic approaches, including person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural therapies. My training emphasized ethical practice, client-on-counsellor relationships, and providing effective support across a diverse range of client needs.
