I grew up in Australia and have lived mainly in Brisbane (Queensland). For over 20 years, I volunteered as a crisis counsellor with LifeLine while working during the day in IT roles specialising in building and integrating Electronic Health Care systems.
When the opportunity arose, I completed the study required for registration as a psychologist and supervision for endorsement as a Counselling Psychologist. I have long held an interest in trauma and more recently I have made this a focus of my work both in private practice and also when facilitating therapy groups.
When I am not working, I like to be outdoors walking, cycling and generally in nature.
I am very motivated to provide support to people directly impacted by the invasion of Ukraine.
Peter is flexible in his treatment approach drawing on evidence based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and trauma-informed therapy including EMDR.
