About me

My Background

I was born and raised in Iran. In 2015 I moved to Budapest, where I discovered my interest in psychology through my own therapy. That lead me to complete my undergrad and graduate studies in psychology at Eötvös Loránd University.

My Clinical Work

Since 2016 when I started my studies, my learning process has been a combination of academic and personal learning. I have attended trainings on Intensive Short-Term Psychotherapy with audio-visual training and supervision. Alongside that, having been in psychotherapy myself has been an important learning experience. For me, sometimes this process goes beyond symptom relief. It becomes, an on-going, honest confrontation with the conditions that we are all living within.

Outside of Work

What I find interesting is that sometimes we forget that mental health practitioners are also human. Which means I too experience unpleasant emotions like you. At times I feel sadness and may want to do things that cheer me up. I enjoy hiking, dancing and reading – especially about the history of science.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CounsellingRecommended for those who want to talk through their emotional challenges with a professional in a safe, supportive environment.
Psychodynamic therapyRecommended for those looking to explore their emotions deeply and understand how past experiences shape their present life.

If you’re here it’s likely that you thought you may need help with something. Although, it’s natural to ask for help from another human for any given issue throughout life, somehow, when it comes to mental health, asking for help becomes challenging. My hope is to support you through this.

From the moment we meet, I ask what brings you to me. What is it that you need my help with? And we will try to identify what are your challenges in particular and how you can address them in a way that makes sense to you.

We all carry a story — about who we are, the problems we need help with and emotions we’d rather not feel. These are some questions I've asked myself, in my own experience as a therapy patient, and they may well become part of our conversations too. So far, I find this painting by Marcos Alvarado to really grasp the idea.

My hope is for us to create a space where you feel safe enough to express your story and your emotions rather than avoiding them. The pace, and the way you choose to tell your story are entirely yours to decide.

Due to the nature of this process, you may have reactions to what I say to you. That is completely normal, and instead of censoring those, we invite them into our sessions. Your continuous feedback helps shape the sessions in the direction that benefits you best.

I hold myself to high standards, but I'm not under the illusion that I'll always meet them. There will be times I miss something, or I'm not as present with you as I want to be. When I catch that, I share it with you. I've found that being honest and transparent about these moments, including my own limitations, deepens our work rather than derailing it. I have learned from my mentors that we are all a work in progress.
