I’m Facundo Illobre, a psychologist, psychotherapist, and university lecturer with many years of experience in both the study and practice of psychotherapy. I’m originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and I’m currently based in the UK, where I am completing my PhD.
My main clinical approach is Schema Therapy, in which I trained with Dr Jeffrey Young and Wendy Behary at the Schema Therapy Institute in New York / New Jersey. I also work with experiential approaches, and I have trained in the integration of methods such as Accelerated Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Coherence Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) with Dr Tori Olds.
Alongside this, I have been deeply interested in Jungian psychology for over ten years. I completed a Master’s degree in Jungian Studies at the University of Essex, and I continue to draw on Jungian ideas in my work, particularly when exploring questions of meaning, symbolism, and deeper aspects of the self. I also have a longstanding personal and professional interest in spiritual traditions, especially Buddhism.
In addition to my clinical work, I have a strong commitment to teaching and research. I have worked as a university lecturer in Buenos Aires for several years, and I am currently pursuing my PhD at the University of Essex, UK.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with people from many different backgrounds, supporting them with difficulties such as anxiety, addiction, depression, relationship problems, long-standing emotional patterns, and existential concerns.
