Psychodynamic:
My work is informed by psychodynamic principles, supporting an exploration of how past experiences, early relationships, and unconscious patterns may continue to shape your thoughts, feelings, and ways of relating in the present. Often we have well-practiced ways to keep these out of consciousness, but these ways often keep us stuck and feeling like we're not really living. Within a safe and reflective space, we can gently explore recurring patterns, beliefs, and emotional experiences, helping to bring greater awareness to what may have remained unspoken or outside of conscious awareness.
Relational:
Central to my practice is the therapeutic relationship itself. I aim to offer a warm, non-judgemental, and attuned space where you feel safe to bring all aspects of yourself. Through this relational process, we can explore how you experience connection, safety, and closeness, both within therapy and in your wider relationships. This work often supports a deeper understanding of your sense of self, identity, and the ways you have learned to attach, protect, and adapt in relationship to others.
Parts Work:
If applicable, I may also draw on parts-based approaches, recognising that we all hold different parts of ourselves shaped by our experiences. Some parts may carry fear, loneliness, or uncertainty, while others have developed to protect or manage emotional pain. With curiosity and care, we work to understand these different parts rather than judge or push them away, supporting a more compassionate and integrated relationship with yourself.
Specific Conditions:
If you struggle with a specific condition, such as BPD or an eating disorder (you may not have been diagnosed - but know you relate) then I will use similar approaches as outlined above, but will also draw on more specific experience and knowledge of the these issues, and you are welcome to reach out to ask more about what this could look like.
