I use warmth and respect to work with people and clarify their thoughts and what they want from their lives, so that they can make the best choices for themselves moving forward.
I am originally from California, but recently moved to Denmark. I have been licensed in the US since 2011, and have enjoyed working both in community mental health and in private practice. I enjoy spending time with my dog, taking her on walks, and getting together with friends. I love a good story, either by TV, book, movie or podcast, and a good laugh.
I believe that we all thrive when we feel respected and safe, and that we often need to learn to be kinder to ourselves. I enjoy working with people to help them feel connected and not judged, so that they can then figure out their most authentic beliefs and feelings which they can then use to guide their choices. I have worked with older adults, people with trauma, addiction and/or severe mental illness, young adults figuring out who they are in the world, and many others, and I really value the relationships that people can create together.
For the past several years, I have been working in private practice in California. Most of the people that I worked with were older adults, but I worked with a wide range of people experiencing diverse diagnoses and concerns. Prior to that, I was the program manager at a Day Treatment Program for adults with co-occuring severe mental illness and substance abuse disorders for years. I have worked at community mental health agencies focused on older adults, residential facilities for adults with severe mental illness, and with unhoused populations.
