About me

I am a psychiatrist and psychotherapist with over a decade of clinical experience, currently based in the UAE. I work primarily with adults experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, and challenges related to major life transitions—especially migration, cultural adjustment, and identity shifts. Having lived and practiced both in Iran and the United Arab Emirates, I bring a deep understanding of cross-cultural emotional experiences and the unique pressures faced by individuals and families living abroad. My background combines medical training with a strong orientation toward Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and evidence-based psychological methods. Beyond clinical practice, I have supported many clients in developing resilience, strengthening emotional regulation, navigating perfectionism, and improving communication in relationships. I value creating a therapeutic space that feels warm, safe, and non-judgmental, where clients can explore their internal world with clarity and confidence. As a bilingual therapist (English & Persian), I work with clients from diverse backgrounds, including professionals, women navigating emotional and relational challenges, and individuals adjusting to new environments. My approach is collaborative, culturally sensitive, and designed to help clients build meaningful, sustainable psychological change.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
CoachingRecommended for those who want support and motivation to achieve personal or professional goals, often with a structured, goal-oriented approach.
Systemic approachRecommended for those who want to look at how different systems—like family, work, or society—affect their behavior and relationships.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and a holistic understanding of mind–body interactions. I focus on helping clients identify underlying patterns—thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—that contribute to distress, and then collaboratively build skills that promote emotional balance, resilience, and self-awareness.

In sessions, I aim to balance structure with warmth: offering practical tools for symptom relief while also making room for deeper exploration of past experiences, identity, and personal meaning. My style is active, supportive, and engaged; I guide clients toward insight, but I also believe in empowering them to become agents of change in their own lives.

I incorporate techniques from CBT, mindfulness-based strategies, compassion-focused therapy, and psychoeducation depending on each client’s needs. For individuals navigating migration or multicultural identity, I integrate a cross-cultural lens that honors their personal history and lived experiences. Clients often describe working with me as a process that brings clarity, emotional grounding, and a renewed sense of direction.
