I am an emotion-focused therapist - the approach may be unusual for some people who expect a session based on 'just' talking about the problem. After years of clinical training with families, couples, and individuals, I realized how important emotions are as they often teach us about what the problem is and what we can do to improve based on that information. Contrary to approaches focused on ‘talking about’ experiences, I believe that connecting to our internal experiences and having a felt sense of them during session is fundamental. Certain emotions can be overwhelming and so, therapy with me is an opportunity to (re)connect with them together, safely. I will invite you to experience, but ultimately, we will only go where you feel ready to go. Bring an open mind - no matter where you are in terms of motivation or readiness for changing something in your life, we will meet there.
