I am a trained psychologist with a Masters Degree from Christ University, India. I specialized in clinical psychology and have also studied culture and identity at WWU, Muenster, Germany. I grew up a third-culture kid, having lived in 4 different continents by the time I was 18: England, China, and the USA. Growing up in these cultures and being interconnected with all of them was both a joy and a challenge, but now, as an adult with psychological training, I have learned to see it from a 360 degree angle.
I have also lived a large part of my adult life in India and am very invested in my culture. There is an intersectional line between the traditional and the modern Indian, and many Millennial Indians are right on it, easily going between the two based on who they are with. I can help issues that come with both sides of this spectrum.
I have personally experienced the challenges of migration, diasporas, first-generation immigrant struggles, and identity issues that come with a ever-moving life. Moreover, as part of a intercultural marriage myself, I have faced and overcome a vast array of issues between couples that have to navigate major integral factors like race, religion, culture, and language.
I have professional experience with psychodynamic therapy, Gestalt therapy, and marriage and family therapy. I also use a holistic approach that is suited to each client's individual journey. A first session is important for both you as a client and me as a counsellor as we can see if our values and psychological approaches align together. If not, there are many steps we can take together to ensure that you get the best suited counsellor or therapist.
As a spiritually minded person, I am also open to exploring religion, religious identity, and existential questions that may be affecting quality of life.
What is important for me is making sure that each person can transform their lives in the most positive way, overcome challenges, and create lasting change. I am committed to making this a reality for every client.
