Psychologist (Rsc. Msc.), based in Düsseldorf, specialising in internationals, ready to help you bloom again Psicóloga (Rsc. Msc.), baseada em Düsseldorf, especializada em ajudar pessoas que moram fora a florescer denovo
I'm originally from Brazil, but I grew up as a "Third Culture Kid" (TCK)- someone who moves to multiple places as a child and adopts a multicultural lifestyle. I lived for a long time in the Netherlands, where I got my Research Master's specialising in Clinical and Health Psychology. I worked three years in Dutch universities, as a teacher and as a mentor to international students, parallel to which I developed my work counselling internationals of all ages. For the last four years I've been passionate about helping TCKs, expats, and immigrants who speak English or Portuguese. I recently moved to Germany, where I am living with my partner and our two cats- Percy and Pippin (you may meet them in sessions online!)
Speaking from experience, living as an international- living between worlds- makes you feel less grounded. More uncertain of where to belong, disenchanted, disheartened, distressed.
But a moment of struggle or withdrawing, can become the beginning of the next beautiful chapter. One where you embrace your process of self discovery, orientation, exploration, and renewal.
My mission is to help you feel connected with yourself, your story, and your future in your new home. There are no easy shortcuts, no ready made solutions, but I am here to help as your guide through your personal transformation.
What is it like working with me? We meet weekly for 60 minutes. I design the sessions to provide a cozy, supportive, and non-judgmental environment, encouraging you to share your struggles. We will focus on helping you navigate the challenges which are associated with or worsened by immigration, expatriation, or living in a multicultural environment. Using a variety of tools from cognitive behavioral therapies, personally curated to suit your challenges, I help you bloom again
What can I expect from the first session? The appointment is free of charge. When you book an exploration session, we have a 60 minute talk to discuss your request, your story, your expectations, and my expectations. Through this we find our whether we are a good match to help you navigate your challenges.
