About me

Hello, I am a clinical and counselling psychologist registered in Italy and the UK with the Health and Care Professional Council. I am also a Psychotherapist, accredited in Italy and the UK. I have moved quite a lot due to my interest in psychology research; thus, I can relate to the challenges and troubles you may encounter when living in another country. I have several years of research experience working with parents, infants, children, and young people, and I am particularly interested in attachment relationships over the lifespan. My approach

My working framework is psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach involves facilitating a deeper understanding of one's emotions and feelings to help people gain a greater insight into what they feel and think. It focuses on helping the client to build his/her internal resources and strengths to be able to deal with problems and issues everyday life poses. By improving this understanding, people can make more conscious choices about their lives. Psychodynamic psychotherapy involves the interpretation of mental and emotional processes rather than focusing only on behavior and it focuses on the psychological roots of human suffering. It entails self-reflection and relying on the client-therapist relationship as a window into the patterns of difficult relationships the client experiences in his life. The main goals of psychodynamic psychotherapy are 1) to enhance self-awareness and 2) to promote the understanding of thoughts, feelings, and beliefs related to past experiences and that impact on the present. Psychodynamic psychotherapy helps people to learn, bear, and gain perspective on their life experiences, facilitating the expression of emotions in adaptive and healthier ways.
