I am an experienced gestalt therapist in training with a clinical background. My goal is to help you develop a deeper awareness of yourself, enhance your relationships, and live a more authentic and fulfilling life.
Hello, my name is Mayna. I`m 33 years old psychologist and gestalt therapist in training from Ukraine, currently based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Psychology is my second profession; prior to this, I worked as an export manager for around seven years. I pursued gestalt therapy with a deep desire to engage in meaningful work that positively impacts people's lives.
Outside of work and studies, I enjoy traveling, reading, commercial jazz dancing, and taking drama classes.
I sought therapy feeling anxious, confused, and lacking in self-confidence, unsure of my life direction and how to find clarity. Through therapy, I embarked on a profound journey of self-discovery, gaining insight into who I am, what I desire, and how I want to live my life.
Now equipped with the skills, desire, and experience, I am passionate about helping others navigate similar paths of self-discovery. While I continue to evolve on my personal journey, I am eager to support others in theirs.
My approach combines the scientific rigor of psychology with the holistic, experiential nature of Gestalt therapy. This allows me to not only address symptoms but also to explore the underlying patterns and dynamics that influence your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By focusing on the present moment, we can uncover how past experiences shape your current reality and work towards meaningful change.
As a Psychologist and Gestalt Therapist in training, I'm working with a wide range of topics. Here are some areas in which I have the most experience:
-Crises (age crisis, existential crisis, emigration crisis, war crisis) -Relationship Issues (relationship crises, repeating patterns from one partner to another, intimacy and distance, difficulty starting relationships, difficulty ending relationships, divorce and life afterwards, codependence and counterdependence) -Difficulties in relationships in general – in friendships, work, family, and with people around -Addictions (shopaholism, alcoholism, workaholism, eating disorders, etc.) -Emotions (identifying emotions and feelings, coping with toxic shame, guilt, Impostor Syndrome, anxiety, inability to relax) -A state where everything seems to be in place, but nothing brings joy. Something feels off, but it's unclear what -Experiencing loss – of loved ones, home, job, relationships, or a familiar way of life -Low self-esteem -Building personal boundaries -Parents' separation -ADHD
In our sessions, I strive to create a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where you feel safe to express yourself fully. Whether you're struggling with any of the above issues or something else, I am here to support and guide you every step of the way. Together, we will explore your inner world, uncover your strengths, and work towards a greater sense of balance and wholeness.
