About me

I earned a BSc in Psychology (Honors, Individual Track) and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology (cum laude) from Leiden University, along with many additional courses from Erasmus University Rotterdam. I am a registered NIP Psycholoog with the Dutch Association of Psychologists (NIP). As a growing professional, I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, adapting techniques from different modalities to best support each client. The guiding theories and inspirations I use include: I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), and Mindfulness. I also incorporate elements of Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Positive Psychology, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have spent the past 10 years fully engaged in studying and providing mental health support to diverse individuals. I am passionate about this field and continuously committed to learning and delivering the best evidence based care.

I am an English- and Lithuanian-speaking psychologist from Lithuania, living in the Netherlands for nearly 8 years. I have also lived before in Germany and some months in Bulgaria. As a therapist, I am empathetic, warm, and positive, always striving to improve. I have genuine fascination with the life stories, experiences, and inner worlds of each individual. I see meaning and satisfaction from making a positive impact on people's well-being. From my perspective, every individual is deserving of understanding and help and no issue is to small to get the help you need!

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
Psychotherapy Recommended for those who want to work through emotional or mental health challenges by talking with a trained psychotherapist.
Schema therapyRecommended for those who want to break out of negative patterns or "schemas" that they developed early in life and keep repeating.

Life is rarely without challenges. Our imperfect past and present life experiences, habits, and biology can make us vulnerable to various struggles. In moments of difficulty, the vision of the world may cloud with fear, tension, and stress. You might feel stuck and caught in the cycle of persistent negative thoughts or behavior making it difficult to pursue positive opportunities and move forward. Yet, by facing and addressing personal challenges, your life can improve and fill with more positive colors.

I believe that there is no one fit all solution. We will cater the therapy based on your individual needs and situation- your unique environment, social, cultural, medical, psychological background and preferences! We will also adapt the treatment plan based on your changing needs and circumstances. Collaboratively, I will seek to use my knowledge as psychologist in helping you to find approach which strives your interest, and motivation to apply even outside therapy room!

Below is an outline of some directions our work may take, though the exact path will be shaped around your unique needs and goals. We won’t necessarily cover everything but will focus on what will benefit you most:

  • Therapy may help uncover your patterns, leading to self-discovery. This insight can often bring improvements in your life. In sessions, we might work together to find new and better ways to view situations and handle problems. We could identify thought patterns and explore healthier ways to approach them. This might involve challenging negative thoughts and replacing them with more positive, realistic ones. We may also look at behaviors that could be unhelpful or harmful and develop strategies to change them, including practicing new skills or habits that support your goals.
  • We might deepen your emotional experience by exploring and bringing to light core, often hidden emotions that influence your thoughts and behaviors.
  • You may also learn to cultivate mindful awareness, observing your thoughts and feelings without judgment and responding to challenges with greater calm and clarity.
  • Depending on your situation, we could pay attention to longstanding patterns or beliefs that developed early in life and continue to affect your feelings and behaviors today. By gently identifying and challenging these core themes, we aim to replace old, limiting beliefs with healthier perspectives, helping you break free from unhelpful cycles.
  • Additionally, we may practice skills to improve emotional regulation, tolerate distress, and enhance interpersonal effectiveness. These skills can help you manage overwhelming emotions, stay grounded during difficult moments, and communicate your needs more effectively, fostering healthier relationships and greater resilience.
  • We might develop practical tools and techniques to solve problems while building on your successes and strengths.
  • Together, we can discover your strengths, values, and goals and harness your inner resources to increase your resilience. Ultimately, the work is aimed at building your confident self—one who is self-aware, authentic, emotionally balanced, able to create and maintain healthy relationships, resilient in the face of life’s challenges, goal-oriented, and fulfilled.
