About me

I hold a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage, Couple and Family Therapy from Lewis and Clark, an AAMFT approved and COMAFTE accredited program. I have completed coursework in systems theory, models of systemic therapy, psychopathology, addictions, human development, ethics, group therapy, diversity training, intimate partner violence, medical family therapy, child diagnosis and assessment, and other related subjects. I continue my education through workshops and seminars, as well as personal and professional reading and research. After completing my masters, I started my work as an individual and family therapist at Morrison and Child Family Services in Portland Oregon. In 2016, I moved to Germany where I began my work as a school counselor, supporting families and children, an experience that deepened my understanding of transition, identity, and cross-cultural mental health care. Outside of my educational and professional background, I’m passionate about nature and the healing power it offers. Activities like hiking and running are not only part of my self-care but also inspire my belief that connection to the natural world can be a powerful part of the healing process.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioral therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.

I believe every person holds strengths within themselves, even when those strengths feel out of reach. Life’s challenges, stress, and emotional pain can make it difficult to access our inner resilience. My role as a therapist is to walk alongside you, helping you reconnect with your strengths and uncover new ways to cope, heal, and grow. I draw from the Experiential Model and incorporate evidence-based tools from, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Anxiety (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support you in managing obstacles, improving emotional regulation, and building effective skills for daily life. Together, we’ll explore important areas such as family roles, personal values, patterns of communication, and problem-solving strategies that impact your relationships and overall well-being. Therapy is a collaborative process. We'll work together to set meaningful goals, develop tools for change, and strengthen the relationships that matter to you. I’ll encourage you to take what we build in our sessions and apply it in your everyday life; at home, in your community, and wherever you feel it can make a difference. I also believe healing often takes a village. When helpful, we can explore including supportive individuals in your journey, such as family members, doctors, spiritual leaders, or close friends. Confidentiality is an important ongoing factor in the therapy process and we will discuss each step as a collaborative unit in order to make sure the information shared with important others are agreed upon.
