I have a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology (Counseling Practices) from Roosevelt University, Illinois, USA and a diploma in Marriage, Couples and Family Counseling from IGNOU, New Delhi. I specialize in working with adolescents, parents, families, couples, and adults. I utilize various approaches to counseling such as, trauma-informed therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, family systems, and coping skills training to help clients improve their quality of life. I am passionate about helping others and my goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment. I also believe that building rapport is first and the most important step toward success and works in collaboration with clients to identify treatment goals to promote changes. I have experience working in a health department, hospitals, and university. My internship was at Dominican University where I worked with young adults that were struggling with phase of life issues such as starting college, struggling in classes or breakup/divorce and other mental health issues.

I use an integrative approach in my work which means that I utilize elements from different approaches depending on the needs of my clients. These elements can be borrowed from approaches such as relational approach, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, psychodynamic approach, client centered approach, humanistic approach, etc. As an integrative therapist, I don’t try to fit my clients into a specific type of therapy but try to understand what makes them human from the lens that best suits their own vision. I also use different approaches that I’ve been trained in to respect the multi-faceted reality of the human experience. I am also certified in Trauma-informed work and place a strong emphasis on the body and emotions while aiming at integrating different parts of oneself.
