I am a NIP-registered psychologist offering online counselling in English for individuals. I support students and professionals (18+) with anxiety, burnout, identity and adjustment using CBT and integrative approaches.
My journey into psychology started, as most meaningful things do, with curiosity. I’ve always been fascinated by the human mind and the wild rollercoaster of thoughts, emotions, and behaviours we all experience. I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology at the American University in Cairo, then followed it up with a Master’s in Psychology at Webster University in Leiden, The Netherlands.
My professional path began by working with young neurodivergent children, and over time, my interests expanded to include mental health among marginalized communities, women’s wellbeing, and sports psychology. As someone who’s passionate about basketball and martial arts, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful the mind-body connection can be — and how important it is to create space for that in therapy.
At present, I focus on providing remote counselling in English to the community in the Netherlands and more — students and professionals (18+) who are navigating all the lovely and less-than-lovely aspects of living abroad. Whether it’s homesickness, anxiety, burnout, or that sneaky imposter syndrome that shows up uninvited, I offer science-based therapy rooted in CBT, ACT, Client-Centered, and integrative approaches. My personal style of counselling also borrows from the teachings of DBT and Systemic Therapy.
Over the years, I’ve delivered more than 600 hours of supervised counselling — but I’m not here to count numbers. I’m here to be a non-judgmental ear, a safe space, and someone who gets it.
My therapeutic style is grounded in evidence-based approaches, primarily Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Client-Centered Therapy. From there, I work integratively, drawing on additional theories and practical exercises to tailor therapy to each individual. The direction of our work is shaped by your concerns, goals, values, and preferences, because therapy is most effective when it fits the person, not the other way around.
My cultural background and diverse personal and professional experiences strongly inform my work. Having lived, studied, and worked across different contexts, I approach counselling with cultural sensitivity and an awareness of how identity, migration, and global realities can shape mental health. This allows me to offer support that feels relevant, respectful, and grounded in the realities of living in an interconnected and ever-changing world.
Above all, I aim to create a collaborative, thoughtful, and flexible therapeutic space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered.
Most recently, I worked as a MARC Trainee Operator at B-Securité in the Netherlands, where I monitored security systems, assessed alarms, and coordinated emergency responses in real time. This role strengthened my ability to remain calm under pressure, make quick decisions, and manage critical situations effectively. Alongside my academic training, I gained clinical experience as a Student Therapist at Webster University Leiden, providing supervised counselling to an international client population both in person and remotely. I conducted assessments, case formulations, and treatment planning, supporting clients with concerns including anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, interpersonal difficulties, health-related concerns, and work stress using integrative, evidence-based approaches. Earlier in my career, I worked as a Junior Therapist in Egypt with neurodivergent children, delivering individualized developmental and behavioral interventions and adapting learning programs to each child’s needs. This was complemented by early training in ABA-based interventions. In parallel, I spent several years working in sports and fitness settings in administrative and coaching roles, further deepening my understanding of the mind–body connection and holistic wellbeing.
I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology from Webster University in Leiden, The Netherlands, where I received advanced training in evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention within an international and multicultural context. As part of my postgraduate education, I completed over 600 hours of supervised counselling practice.
I previously earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the American University in Cairo, where I built a strong foundation in psychological theory, research methods, ethics, and applied psychological practice.
I am registered with the Netherlands Institute of Psychologists (NIP), meeting the professional, ethical, and practice standards required to work as a psychologist in the Netherlands. This registration reflects my academic qualifications, supervised clinical experience, and ongoing commitment to professional development and high-quality psychological care.
