Passionate clinical psychologist since 2018, specializing in CBT. Skilled in crisis intervention, diagnostics, and group therapy. Dedicated to patient-centered care and holistic well-being.
I am Mortatha Al Khafage, a dedicated professional with a diverse background in psychology and therapy. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience working in various clinical settings, including my role as a Clinical Psychologist at the Asklepios Klinikum Nord Ochsenzoll and as a Psychotherapist at the Ameos Klinikum Seepark Geestland. I have also served as a Multisystemic Therapist at the gsi Gesellschaft für sozialpädagogische Innovation.
Throughout my career, I have remained committed to providing exceptional care to my patients. I have worked in both acute psychiatry, including the secure-closed unit, and outpatient settings, such as the day clinic. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to make a positive impact as a legal guardian at MiA e.V. and as a group leader for children and adolescents at the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz.
In terms of my education, I am currently undergoing training as a Psychotherapist specializing in cognitive-behavioral therapy at the HIP. I hold a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy from the Medical School Hamburg, as well as a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Psychology. Furthermore, I have pursued my academic interests by studying Philosophy and Islamic Studies at the University of Hamburg.
Being fluent in German, Arabic, and English, I possess strong language skills that enable me to effectively communicate with diverse populations and provide culturally sensitive care.
In my work, I take a patient-centered approach, recognizing the unique needs and circumstances of each individual. I believe in building a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust, empathy, and respect. By creating a safe and non-judgmental space, I aim to establish a collaborative relationship with my clients, where they feel comfortable sharing their experiences and working towards their goals.
Drawing from my training in cognitive-behavioral therapy, I utilize evidence-based techniques to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. I work collaboratively with my clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their specific concerns and promote positive change.
I also value the importance of holistic well-being. I take into account the biological, psychological, and social factors that can impact a person's mental health. By considering the broader context of my clients' lives, I strive to develop comprehensive treatment approaches that support their overall well-being.
Continuous professional development is integral to my practice. I stay updated on the latest research and therapeutic techniques, attending workshops and engaging in ongoing training to enhance my skills and knowledge. I am dedicated to providing high-quality care that is rooted in current best practices.
Overall, my approach to my work is characterized by compassion, evidence-based interventions, and a commitment to helping individuals achieve their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.
