About me
I am a Specialist in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy and a certified Hypnotherapist. I have more than a decade of experience as a clinician and specialize in treating patients with anxiety, OCD and depression but treat all forms of mental health issues. Next to my clinical work, I am investigating the effect of music-based therapies on cognitive function and depressive symptoms.
I work at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) as a consultant specialist on anxiety disorders and OCD unit. Next to various teaching appointments, I am offering psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural psychotherapy and hypnotherapy at my private practice - MindBrain Clinic. I am also the co-founder of the MindBrain Forum (www.mindbrainforum.com), a blog dedicated to raising awareness on mental health issues.

Approach
At the beginning of every therapy, the focus is mutual trust and respect. This foundation allows for a trusting and sustainable relationship crucial for the success of the treatment. When the unspoken can be uttered, the forgotten remembered, and new insights gained, this self-knowledge (i.e., a better understanding of one's intentions, thoughts, emotions, and behaviours) allows for cognitive and behavioural change and, as a result, recovery.
As this is an arduous path, my role is to encourage and support you on this journey. For this purpose, I use different interventional approaches, from psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and hypnotherapy.
