I am trained in Biodynamic Body-Psychotherapy , Somatic Experiencing and Somatic Coaching and work as an alternative practitioner with clients in German and English, on site in Hamburg Eimsbüttel and via Zoom. Before moving into the field of therapeutic work, I had a career as a researcher and lecturer at various universities in Germany, the US and the UK.
Body-oriented psychotherapy assumes that psychological troubles always have an physiological, organic aspect, i.e. they are embodied. Stressful events that could not be sufficiently processed at the time of the experience leave traces in the body and thus influence our thinking, acting and feeling. This can lead to chronic tension or other physical and mental symptoms. Biodynamic body psychotherapy works on the basis of depth psychology and uses body perception to uncover unconscious mental processes. So it's not just about talking about psychologically troubling topics, but about experiencing, feeling, expressing and understanding them, starting with the body. The careful balance between the expression of feelings, thoughts and the reflection of one's own experience ensures a gradual processing and gentle resolution of stress, tension and pain. A central feature of biodynamics is working with stress-regulating massages.
