As a therapist, I offer confidential sessions focused on coping strategies and a safe space to process emotions and experiences.
I hold a Bachelor of Social Work from Campbell University, and a Master of Social Work from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Since 2010, I have had the privilege of working in a variety of settings as a social worker and therapist: community agency, nonprofit, in-home, school-based, and in the office. I am a registered Psychosociaal Werker on the Onafhankelijk Therapeuten Register (Independent Therapist Register) with the Nederlandse Federatie Gezondheidszorg (Dutch Healthcare Federation).
As a therapist, I provide a consistent presence, guiding you through challenging moments while empowering you to find your own solutions. This supportive relationship fosters trust, allowing for growth, self-discovery, and transformation. Working together, we build a toolbox of evidence-based skills to cope with challenges, navigate life’s stressors, and connect with others to create a support network.
I strongly believe in meeting you where you are, exactly as you are. I work with English-speaking adults 18+. I specialize in working with: Navigating life transitions, such as parenting, partnership, moves, break-ups, and divorce Stress, trauma, and managing intense emotions ADHD & Neurodivergence University students studying abroad, expats, and temporary and long-term workers living abroad Imposter syndrome and finding work/study and life balance
I have a background in the study and practice of social work, which allows me to view clients as a part of multiple systems that impact their lives and functioning. Social work also values acknowledging the ways in which issues of social justice, oppression, diversity, identity, and history impact our clients’ well-being and mental health. In therapy, I utilize a person-centered, blended approach using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindful Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR to address your concerns. I am also a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200), and I enjoy integrating aspects of yoga, including mindfulness and a mind/body approach, into therapy where appropriate. As an avid reader, I’m committed to continuing grow in my knowledge and skills and integrating new research and best practices into my work.
I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, weight inclusive, and welcoming of clients of all cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds. I enjoy holding space for folks with religious trauma or who have had adverse religious experiences. It is important to me to be continuously learning and evaluating my privilege, practicing from an antiracist and anti-oppressive lens. My pronouns are she/her.
I have been practicing as a therapist since 2010. I have had the privilege to provide clinical services to clients in the home, community, school, nonprofit, office, and telehealth settings. I have worked with children ages 5+ through adults, and now primarily focus on working with adults ages 18+.
