Support for people who feel stuck – in themselves, in relationships, or in life
It's good to have you here.
I am an Austrian developmental psychologist, a psychotherapist, and a native German speaker. I work with adults and adolescents experiencing a wide range of difficulties in their relationship with themselves and others. These difficulties are often only the “tip of the iceberg” – the part that is visible on the surface or causing distress in the present. Beneath that may lie adverse relationship experiences, chronic stress, or traumatic events that can leave us feeling stuck or unable to move forward. The past may seem to keep catching up with us, or we may find ourselves going around in circles with the same problems. Perhaps this is an experience you recognize.
How deeply we explore the iceberg together – or whether we prefer to stay closer to the surface – is always your choice. I do not believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach, as it does not reflect the complexity of human experience. Depending on your needs, there are different ways of understanding and working with deeper patterns. This often works well by including your inner experience, such as bodily sensations and movement impulses, as well as dialogue and work with different inner parts. My aim is to listen carefully and meet you where you are. We will decide together on the direction we take.
I have found that talking about problems alone is often not enough to bring about lasting change. Many people already understand their difficulties very well and have spent a lot of time reflecting on themselves, perhaps also talking about their experiences with others – yet they still feel stuck. In these cases, it can be helpful to explore and transform the underlying patterns not only through thoughts and understanding, but also on a bodily and emotional level. At the same time, it can be important to express, clarify, and make sense of difficult experiences. I am particularly interested in how you experience – and have experienced – your own story, as this is likely to continue influencing your thoughts, emotions, self-image, and relationships today. At the heart of my work is a shared exploration of what is happening within you, together with a gentle transformation of patterns that no longer serve you, so that you can reconnect with greater inner choice and a renewed sense of agency. A safe and respectful therapeutic space provides the foundation for new experiences and meaningful change.
If you have any questions or would like to get to know me, I offer a free 20-minute introductory consultation. During this conversation, I can provide an initial assessment and discuss what kind of therapeutic approach may be most suitable for your current concerns.
I work in a trauma-informed, body-oriented, and integrative way with emotional and psychological difficulties such as inner tension, anxiety, panic, hopelessness, loneliness, flashbacks, impulsivity, withdrawal, overwhelm, relationship difficulties, anger, shame, low self-worth, and other distressing emotional states or patterns. In this context, we may also explore recurring thought patterns, intrusive memories or images, compulsive or addictive behaviors, as well as experiences of detachment, alienation, emptiness, dissociation, sleep disturbances, and other stress-related physical or psychological symptoms and behavioral loops.
Change can arise through shifts in perspective, regulation of the nervous system, and new experiences within the therapeutic process. Through appropriate therapeutic conditions and approaches such as Deep Brain Reorienting, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Parts Work, earlier distressing experiences can be explored, integrated, and processed when appropriate. My approach is flexible and experiential, and I understand these methods as navigational tools within the individual therapeutic process.
The focus is not on symptom control alone, but on changing patterns of experience and response, as well as the way we relate to ourselves and our environment. In this way, symptoms become changeable indirectly and in a more natural way, without requiring any particular form of “discipline” or special abilities. The freedom to make one’s own life decisions always remains with you.
The main therapeutic work takes place in our sessions. Everyday practices and exercises for home may be integrated into the process as a complement, if desired. Supportive self-regulation tools are developed or provided individually, depending on what is helpful.
My therapeutic work is flexible and may involve anything from a few sessions to longer-term therapy, depending on your individual needs. When working with adolescents, involving the family may sometimes be beneficial. If appropriate, I also offer parent counselling.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults facing a wide range of emotional, behavioural and developmental difficulties, as well as supporting individuals in processing traumatic and stressful life experiences.
