About me

It’s good to have you here. I am an Austrian (native German-speaking) developmental psychologist and psychotherapist working with adults and adolescents who experience emotional overwhelm, stress, inner conflicts, or repeated patterns of suffering, often connected to early relational trauma and/or neurodevelopmental differences (e.g. ADHD or autism spectrum conditions). The reasons are not always clear or may only be partially understood, while significant distress or difficulties in daily life are still present. Even so, there are ways to work with these challenges in a meaningful and supportive way. I want to be clear that even when situations feel difficult or hopeless, positive change is possible. Sometimes this requires finding a new way forward; at its core, however, it is about finding one’s way back to oneself. I am glad to support you on this path. Speaking openly and without judgment can be relieving and, for some people, even a new experience that brings a sense of clarity and connection. In sessions, it is not only about exchanging information, but also about exploring the personal meaning of what has been experienced. This alone can already lead to greater clarity and a deeper sense of connection. Conversations also form the basis for clarifying individual concerns and provide the framework for all further work. In addition, I place a strong focus on exploring difficulties as they show up in present-moment, embodied experience. These sensations, impulses, images, and memories are often only partly conscious and can be difficult to put into words; at the same time, they form a significant part of our inner experience and strongly shape how we think, feel, and act. This is where the core of our work lies – when words alone are not enough. The therapeutic process is individual and develops according to each person’s concerns and pace. At its core is a shared exploration of what is happening internally and a careful transformation of distressing patterns. A safe and respectful therapeutic frame is a prerequisite for new experiences to become possible. If you have any questions, I offer a free 20-minute introductory call.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
Body therapyRecommended for those who want to connect their mind and body to release stress or trauma through physical sensations and movement.
Integrative therapy Recommended for those who prefer a flexible approach that combines different therapies to meet their unique needs.
Person-centered approachRecommended for those looking for a supportive, non-judgmental space where they can lead the conversation and explore their feelings at their own pace.
I work in a trauma-informed, body-oriented, and integrative way with psychological challenges such as inner tension, anxiety, impulsivity, withdrawal, overwhelm, anger, shame, and other distressing emotional states. In this context, we often see recurring thought patterns, intrusive memories or images, emotional overwhelm, compulsive or addictive behaviors, as well as forms of detachment, estrangement, and dissociation. Change can arise both through a shift in perspective and through immediate, new experiences within the therapeutic process. Through appropriate therapeutic conditions and approaches such as Deep Brain Reorienting, Imagery Rescripting, and Parts Work, earlier distressing experiences can become accessible and processed. The focus is not on symptom control alone, but on changing patterns of experience and response, as well as the way we relate to ourselves and our environment. In this way, symptoms become changeable indirectly and in a more natural way, without requiring any particular form of “discipline.” The freedom to make one’s own life decisions always remains with each person. The main therapeutic work takes place in our sessions. Everyday practices and exercises for home may be integrated into the process as a complement, if desired. Supportive self-regulation tools are developed or provided individually, depending on what is helpful. My therapeutic work is flexible and may involve a few sessions or longer-term processes over several months, depending on individual needs. In the case of adolescents, the family context may also be included where appropriate.
