I work in a trauma-informed, body-oriented, and integrative way with psychological challenges such as inner tension, anxiety, flashbacks, impulsivity, withdrawal, overwhelm, relationship problems, anger, shame, and other distressing emotional states and behavioral challenges. In this context, we often see recurring thought patterns, intrusive memories or images, emotional overwhelm, compulsive or addictive behaviors, as well as forms of detachment, alienation, and dissociation.
Change can arise both through a shift in perspective and through immediate, new experiences within the therapeutic process. Through appropriate therapeutic conditions and approaches such as Deep Brain Reorienting, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Parts Work, earlier distressing experiences can become accessible and processed. My approach is flexible and experience-based, and I understand these methods as navigational tools within the individual therapeutic process.
The focus is not on symptom control alone, but on changing patterns of experience and response, as well as the way we relate to ourselves and our environment. In this way, symptoms become changeable indirectly and in a more natural way, without requiring any particular form of “discipline” or special abilities. The freedom to make one’s own life decisions always remains with you.
The main therapeutic work takes place in our sessions. Everyday practices and exercises for home may be integrated into the process as a complement, if desired. Supportive self-regulation tools are developed or provided individually, depending on what is helpful.
My therapeutic work is flexible and may involve a few sessions or longer-term processes over several months, depending on individual needs. In the case of adolescents, the family context may also be included where appropriate.
