I am a psychologist originally from the Netherlands, where I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Clinical Psychology. For the past eight years, I have worked in a variety of therapeutic settings, including individual therapy, intensive group therapy, inpatient and outpatient addiction care and online coaching.
Having lived in several different countries as an expat, I understand how life transitions, cultural differences, and being far from familiar support systems can shape our mental well-being. These experiences have deepened my curiosity about how people navigate challenges and find their way through difficult periods in life.
In my work, I draw inspiration from both Western psychology and Eastern philosophy. I believe that mental well-being is connected not only to our thoughts and emotions, but also to our bodies, relationships, values, and the environments we live in. I am particularly interested in understanding the person behind the labels. Rather than focusing only on diagnoses or categories, I approach each client with curiosity, care, and openness, recognising that every individual has their own story, strengths, and way of making sense of the world.
Nature also plays an important role in my life and work. Spending time in nature, particularly in the forest, helps me slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters. This personal connection led me to train as a Forest Therapy Practitioner. When it fits the process, I enjoy bringing elements of nature and mindfulness into therapy.
