Psychologist specializing in stress, overthinking & sleep problems – for people who keep functioning but struggle to truly switch off.
Do you keep functioning on the outside, but find it increasingly difficult to switch off inside?
Maybe you are still managing your everyday life, but rest and recovery have become harder. Your thoughts keep running, you are sleeping less well, feeling more easily overwhelmed, or constantly carrying a sense of inner tension.
Many of the people I work with carry a lot of responsibility – at work, in their families, or across several areas of life. From the outside, things may still look fine. Inside, however, there is less and less space for calm and recovery.
I am Tabea Vortanz, Psychologist (M.Sc.) and licensed Heilpraktikerin for Psychotherapy in Germany. I specialize in supporting people with stress, overthinking, sleep problems, exhaustion, and inner restlessness.
In our work together, we look not only at what is causing you stress, but also at what may be keeping the stress, overthinking, or tension going. From there, we develop practical steps that fit your individual situation and everyday life.
My approach is evidence-informed, structured, and collaborative. I want you to understand what is happening within you and to leave our sessions with psychological strategies you can actually use in your daily life.
Having lived in four different countries myself, I also understand some of the challenges that can come with living abroad, adjusting to a new environment, or feeling caught between different cultures and places.
You do not need to know exactly what you need or where to start. You can simply send me a short message about what is currently on your mind, and we can see together whether working with me might be a good fit.
My approach is structured, practical, and tailored to your individual situation.
I do not want you to simply talk about what is difficult. Together, we look at what may be keeping your stress, overthinking, inner tension, or sleep problems going – and what you can realistically change.
My work draws mainly on:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Understanding unhelpful thought and behaviour patterns and developing more helpful ways of responding to stress, worry, and difficult situations.
Sleep Psychology: Practical, evidence-informed strategies to understand sleep problems, reduce sleep-related pressure, and support healthier sleep.
Psychoeducation: Understanding why your mind and body react the way they do can already bring relief and make change feel more manageable.
Positive Psychology & Self-Leadership: Strengthening your resources, becoming more aware of your needs and boundaries, and developing ways of navigating everyday challenges with greater clarity.
I work collaboratively and at your pace. You can expect psychological explanations, practical strategies, and exercises that we adapt to your everyday life.
The goal is not to get rid of every difficult thought or feeling. It is to help you understand yourself better, respond differently to what is weighing on you, and regain a greater sense of influence over how you feel and act.
