In 2016, I completed my studies at Boğaziçi University (in Istanbul), graduating from the Psychology Department. Throughout my time in university, I specialized in the realms of both art and psychology. Over a span of 3 years, I assumed the role of general coordinator at one of Istanbul's prominent contemporary art museums. During this period, I had the opportunity to collaborate with almost 300 artists, especially sculptors. This experience deepened my exploration into the influence of artistic creation on mental well-being. Alongside this, I pursued training in analytical psychopathology, thematic perception tests, and the Rorschach test through the Rorschachturk Association.
My master's degree in clinical psychology was attained by composing a thesis centered on investigating the necessity of touch within interpersonal relationships. This research delved into the impact of touch deprivation, the practice of sculpture, and the role of alexithymia in our need for interpersonal touch.
Following the completion of a year-long clinical internship at Erenköy Mental and Nervous Diseases Hospital, I graduated with my master's degree. I underwent ISST-approved schema therapy training and received supervision. Additionally, I am undergoing training in relational psychodynamic therapy and deepening my understanding of Lacanian readings within the framework of the Lacancıforum association.
In essence, I continue my professional journey by integrating principles from two distinct paradigms, namely schema therapy and psychodynamic therapy. Prioritizing a client-centric approach and maintaining flexibility in terms of methodology remain of utmost importance to me.
Schema Therapy / Psychodynamic Therapy client-centered, eclectic, and methodologically flexible importance on adopting a non-hierarchical, collaborative, and supportive stance
