Believing that understanding the mind is key to personal growth and resilience, I began my studies in psychology at Istanbul Bilgi University, followed by a year in Canada. This experience led to research at Columbia University's social cognition lab in New York, sparking my interest in neuroscience. I then pursued a master's degree in the field, followed by doctoral research in Berlin, where I explored the interplay of mind, body, and emotion across the lifespan.
What pulled me toward counseling and psychotherapy was a strong sense of empathy for the human experience, coupled with a strong belief in the resilience of the human spirit. I volunteered at various non-profit organizations, including a women's shelter, where I first discovered the transformative power of providing support and guidance, an experience that ignited my passion for empowering others. Alongside my academic studies, I also dedicated myself to psychotherapy training. My academic foundation, intertwined with insights gained from volunteer work and diverse life experiences, has shaped my compassionate and client-centered approach.
