I'm Doğa, and I'm a clinical psychologist based in Izmir, Türkiye.
My path into this work has been deeply personal. Long before I started counselling, I knew what it was like to feel stuck, anxious, and weighed down by self-doubt. Finding my own way through those moments taught me how powerful it is to have a safe, supportive space where you don't have to go through it alone. That realization is what ultimately led me here.
Along the way, I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, where my research on post-traumatic growth and basic psychological needs deepened my belief in our ability to change and grow when we're given a safe environment to do so. I draw on a structured, goal-focused approach, and I bring the same care and attentiveness to everyone I work with.
Living in a culturally diverse country has shaped me into a counsellor who values inclusivity and openness. I believe this work should feel like a genuine collaboration, where warmth and even a little humor can sit side by side with serious inner work. My goal is simple: to be a steady, trustworthy presence while you create a life with more peace, joy, and meaning.
I've supported clients as they navigated overwhelming moments, made sense of what they were feeling, strengthened their relationships, grew their confidence, and moved toward a more meaningful life. My work draws on schema therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, approaches that help us understand the deeper emotional patterns, often formed early in life, that quietly shape how you feel, relate, and react today. I also work with nonviolent communication, not only as a way to connect with others, but as a way to listen to yourself. Together we can get to know the different parts of you, the ones that get triggered, protective, or overwhelmed, and learn to put words to what they actually need. Rather than only managing symptoms, we work to notice these patterns as they show up in your daily life, and slowly build kinder, healthier ways of responding. Sessions are collaborative and structured. We'll set goals together, make sense of what's keeping you stuck, and work with concrete tools you can use in everyday life. I try to be a steady, reliable presence throughout, so you're not facing any of this on your own. You don't need to know exactly what you want before reaching out. We can start with a free 15-minute call, no pressure, just to talk and get a feel for whether we click. If it feels right, we'll go from there.
