My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and empowering, built on the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Think of us as a team. My primary goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you feel heard and understood. I believe that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected. Often, we get stuck in unhelpful patterns of thinking that can lead to difficult emotions and actions. In our sessions, we will work together to gently uncover these patterns. For instance, in couples counseling, we might explore the automatic thoughts that lead to conflict and practice new ways of communicating. With parenting challenges, we’ll identify the thoughts that cause stress or frustration and develop practical strategies to respond to your children more effectively. For clients navigating the stress of migration, we will focus on building coping skills to manage anxious thoughts and adapt to new challenges. My role isn't just to listen, but to actively provide you with tools and techniques that you can use in your daily life. We'll focus on the "here and now," setting clear, achievable goals to help you see progress. Ultimately, my aim is for you to become your own therapist—equipped with the skills and confidence to handle life's challenges long after our sessions have ended.
