Malaysian Clinical Psychologist with 15 years’ experience supporting depression, anxiety, and stress. I work with clients from diverse cultural & religious backgrounds, offering a warm, collaborative & respectful space.
I am a Malaysian Muslim born and raised in Sabah, and I have been practising as a Clinical Psychologist for over 15 years. I completed my undergraduate studies in Psychology in Perth, Australia, and later pursued my postgraduate training in Clinical Psychology at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). My clinical experience spans university clinics, private clinics, and a private hospital setting.
I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, burnout, as well as those navigating major life transitions such as divorce, adjusting to adulthood, starting a family, and coping with loss or bereavement. I work with clients from diverse ethnic, cultural, national, and religious backgrounds, and I strive to offer a therapeutic space that is respectful, inclusive, and safe for everyone. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, drawing from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and spiritual or meaning-based approaches, depending on your needs, preferences, and values. Conversations around faith or spirituality are always guided by the client and only explored when meaningful to them.
I also offer screening for emotional wellbeing, particularly related to stress, anxiety, and mood, to help guide our conversations and therapeutic direction.
Growing up in Sabah, I attended a public primary and secondary school that was formerly a convent school. This early exposure shaped my understanding of living harmoniously among people of different religions and cultures. My experiences studying in Australia, living in Kuala Lumpur, and travelling to countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, and Indonesia have further deepened my respect for diverse worldviews and life experiences.
As a psychologist, mother, wife, and daughter, I understand that life can feel overwhelming, complicated, and heavy at times. My aim is to provide a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can speak freely and feel understood. Therapy with me is collaborative and paced according to your comfort. Your voice and goals guide our work together, and I am here to walk alongside you as you move toward healing, clarity, and a more grounded sense of self.
Introduction to My Therapy Approach
I am a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience supporting individuals through a wide range of emotional and life challenges. I believe that each person’s journey is unique, and therapy works best when it is tailored to the individual rather than applying one fixed method for all.
My therapeutic style is eclectic, meaning I draw from various evidence-based approaches depending on what best suits your needs. This may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to understand and work through thought patterns, Client-Centered Therapy to create a supportive, empathetic space, Solution-Focused Therapy to move toward practical and meaningful change, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help build psychological flexibility, or a spiritual or meaning-based approach for those who find grounding in values, faith, or inner purpose.
As part of our work together, I am also able to provide screening for emotional concerns such as stress, anxiety, and low mood, to help us understand what you may be experiencing and to guide our conversations and therapeutic direction.
Therapy with me is a collaborative process. We will explore what you are looking for, what feels safe and comfortable for you, and what matters most in your life. Your pace, your voice, and your goals lead the way. My role is to support and walk alongside you with care, respect, and understanding—never judgment.
My aim is to provide a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported, and where healing and growth can unfold naturally and meaningfully.
