I am a practical psychologist and a trained psychotherapist in gestalt-approach. I am an accredited gestalt therapist and certified supervisor in the National Association of Gestalt Therapists of Ukraine. I started my therapy and training at twenty one. My initial goal was to help myself and learn how to effectively help others.
I am 33 years old, I’ve been in a relationship for nine years. We have a small daughter. I am from Kyiv, Ukraine. I carried out more than 6000 hours of therapeutic sessions and consultations throughout seven years of my practice.
My path to profession I had certain psychological challenges in my childhood that produced a heavy personal crisis when I turned eighteen. I used to feel a lot of anxiety, lack of self-confidence, loneliness, depression, a feeling of being lost and a number of psychosomatic symptoms. I lost contact with my physical sensations and emotions, I had a hard time understanding myself. So, I started searching for ways to improve my mental and physical wellness. In four years of self-education I understood that the main reasons for my bad mental health are in my psyche. At that time I was about to receive my first degree (international economics). After graduation I decided to put economics behind me and invest into studying psychology and receiving psychotherapy.
In my teens I became aware that it’s important for me to help other people to resolve interpersonal and intrapersonal conflicts. I think it’s a natural human reaction to problems in relationships that I was part of in my family and a wider circle.
I very much like to read, think and learn. I’m fond of hiking, animals, music, delicious food, cold shower and sauna. I no longer aim to save the world. My goal is to help a certain amount of people to improve their lives (the more the better).
I use the gestalt approach, as a main method in my work. In addition to it I also rely on psychodynamic approach, existential and humanistic schools of psychotherapy.
My professional qualities and style of work I am rational, organized, calm, accepting, reliable and stable. I am good with words. I can explain complicated matters with simple language. I think about a person I work with and try to feel how they feel. I explore the structure of their life and express curiosity. I have a good sense of humor and self-irony.
I listen a lot, ask questions, share my observations and act authentically in contact with you, according to my understanding of a psychotherapeutic goal and your zone of proximal development.
Our mutual work will help you better understand yourself, process complicated life experiences, traumas, find solutions to important tasks of personal development and creative adaptation to this world, which can be both terrible and beautiful at different times.
