I see myself as a companion in a journey for self development, through emotion and behaviour authenticity. For me, the therapeutic relationship works as a safe place for discovery different ways of being in the world.
I'm an existential psycotherapist. I have in person and online appointments with people seeking a better version of themselves, or a more at ease one, or a more stable. People wanting to understand themselves better, and figuring out possible better ways of being in the world as is. I've had four years of training in Portuguese Society of Existential Psycotherapy (SPPE) with mostly online appointments. My previous education is as a psychiatric and mental health nurse. I've worked for 9 years caring for people and groups with different experiences of mental health or mental illness. I have also been an advocate for recovery and psycossocial rehabilitation. My work is informed by the patient's emotions and perceptions.
I'm curious and passionate about facilitating self knowledge and self awareness for the patient. I pursue a more authentic approach to life choices and actions. The patient becomes more aware and confortable with their emotions, acquiring well being and becoming more at ease with them, with others and in the world. Through feedback and the posing of questions, a deep understanding emerges. From that we can work towards a different way of being in the world, achieving peace between (apparently) opposite features of the patient's personality.
Since 2021 I've taken patients from a Psychology Wellbeing University Clinic. In 2024 I've started my private practice, both online and in person, undergoing Supervision.
