About me

Counselling is my second career; after spending years working in the corporate and creative sector, volunteering in schools and ten years as an expatriate and mother to 2 teens, I retrained as a counsellor. I believe that this gives me a unique insight into the problems we all face regardless of life stage and culture.

My experience is varied, and my client base is diverse. I have a background working with trauma, anxiety, relationship problems and neurodiversity. And my experience encompasses the education and charitable sector, couples therapy, and private practice.

I offer a supportive environment where you can share your experiences. We work together to identify the obstacles preventing your progress and working together to find constructive solutions.

I am an Accredited Counsellor (MNCPS Acc.) with the The National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society in the United Kingdom.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
ACT: Acceptance and Commitment TherapyRecommended for those who want to stop fighting negative thoughts and learn how to live with more acceptance and focus on what really matters in life.
CBT: Cognitive behavioral therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
Person-centered approachRecommended for those looking for a supportive, non-judgmental space where they can lead the conversation and explore their feelings at their own pace.
I find we spend so much time worrying about other people, what they think, how they affect us, or why they affect us.... I believe that you cannot change other peoples behaviour but you can change your response to it. And in doing that you can decide what it is that you can change, accept what you cannot change and work towards living a more fulfilling life.

I am trained in CBT, ACT, DBT and am Gottman Level 2. But, as an integrated therapist, I believe that there is no single therapy that is comprehensive enough to account for the complexities of human behaviour, and so my approach is flexible dependent on my client.

My description may sound very complicated, but I am a Counsellor, parent, ex- businesswoman with experience in all sectors of society, and I work in a manner that suits you.
