Hi, I'm Ioanna Kakkou. I'm a psychologist and psychotherapist in training, interested in how we make sense of our experiences. I'm here to offer space for reflection, honesty, and whatever comes next.
My academic journey began at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Seeking to deepen my understanding, I pursued a Master's in Clinical Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam, focusing on complex mental health issues and therapeutic modalities like Schema Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Driven by a desire to move beyond diagnostic labels and emphasize individual strengths, I explored Positive Psychology and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This path led me to advanced training in Integrative Psychotherapy, where I learn to tailor diverse therapeutic methods to each person's unique experiences.
Psychology and psychotherapy have taught me that perspective is not fixed—it can shift, expand, and bring clarity where there was once confusion. Understanding ourselves can lead to a more meaningful and balanced relationship with both ourselves and those around us. It’s not always easy, but it is possible—and definitely worth the effort!
Availability note: As I also work in another setting, my hours may vary from week to week. The times shown are indicative; all sessions are confirmed individually. I’ll always get back to you promptly to arrange a time that works.
I work from a holistic and integrative perspective, which means I draw from different therapeutic approaches to meet each person where they are. No two people are the same—so therapy shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all.
My goal is not to apply a method to you, but to understand you—and to shape the process in a way that fits your pace, your values, and your lived experience.
I believe therapy can be a space where things begin to make sense. A place for clarity, curiosity, and care. Together, we can explore what’s difficult, discover what’s important, and move toward something more connected and sustainable.
