I use evidenced-based therapy. We will discuss in the first session what expectations we have and potential avenues.
The emphasis in CBT is on the interaction both between the individual and the environment and between an individual's thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. CBT has theoretically been anchored in learning psychology, social psychology, and cognitive psychology.
Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT) is a scientifically proven method for couples designed. Couple's therapy begins with an exploratory part where the therapist together with the parties goes through problem and conflict areas but also the couple's common strengths and history. First, the therapist meets the couple together once, then each one individually and finally the therapist presents how he or she views what has emerged during the conversations and gives the couple an idea of how they can be helped. The treatment that follows may include, for example, replacing negative behaviour patterns with positive interaction, being able to find back to what the couple appreciated with each other, expressing their feelings and needs, listening to each other, giving and receiving criticism and appreciation and to practice problem and conflict resolution.
