I am a mental health professional with a background in international aid and consider myself a longterm expat. After studying Arabic and Middle Eastern studies in Berlin I worked for small scale NGOs in Afghanistan, Yemen and Sudan, each leaving a lasting impression and appreciation of the people and places encountered. Settling in London with my family I went on to complete an MA in Intercultural Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy with the Refugee Therapy Centre while carrying on working in the third sector. I lastly helped to design and implement a school-based frontline model for a successful collective impact charity, creating bespoke support packages for children and families at risk. Since relocating to Spain I am working in private practice offering supervision and psychotherapy via video calls and occasional face to face meetings.
