About me

After 25 years of living, working and raising children in Beijing and London I have recently relocated to Germany (Munich). My experience as an expat as well as being bi-lingual in German and English seem helpful context for people who are finding themselves in similarly transiting life circumstances, be it moving and adjusting to new geographies, cultures, social situations, jobs, age, gender or relationships. Themes that I often explore with clients include the impact that our families of origin keep having on a person´s present day living and struggles, low self esteem or confidence, shame, confusion about identity or preference, feeling empty, lonely, stuck and unable to enjoy the present moment, feeling an outsider, anxious, sad, powerless or without a direction in life.

As a fully accredited clinical member of the professional body for psychotherapists UKCP I adhere to their ethical standards as well as equality and diversity and I regularly keep up my professional development. I am also a member of the professional body BACP.

I welcome clients of all identities and communities, and have experience of working with clients presenting with trauma, neuro diversity, addictions, eating disorder, anxiety, personality disorders, depression, problematic attachment experiences, burnout, anger and more.

I offer individual and couples sessions face-to-face in Munich as well as online.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
Gestalt therapyRecommended for those who want to focus on the present and take responsibility for their feelings and actions to promote personal growth.
As a gestalt therapist my professional attitude is humanistic, holistic and existential, meaning: A person is not “sick” or “broken” on the inside, but rather has made best efforts to respond to adverse circumstances earlier in their life and now finds themself in different circumstances which require new answers.
First, either in an individual or couple setting, we establish a safe relationship between us. Without fear of being judged or discriminated and with compassion I listen to what brings you therapy.
I want to learn all about how you are as a unique human - how you make sense of the world around you, what it´s like to be the person you are and how you got here. Together we gain awareness of and explore what is happening in your daily life, what thoughts, feelings, body sensations and recurring patterns do you experience? The relational support I offer in our collaboration is non-directive, but aims ultimately at learning to know yourself deeply, rebalance your life and discover and vitalise resources and energies that you currently have little access to.
