"Is this all there is for me?"
And what if there is more?
We suffer, and we find our way through suffering. Time upon time I’ve been surprised at the doors that wait to be opened even in times of hardship. I believe all human actions are understandble given their history and context, and that there is nothing fundamentally wrong with any of us. Through non-judgemental listening and compassionate exploration I hope to help people in their struggles. By visiting the places where we get stuck, we create new learning around these places and our "sticky bits" will loosen their hold on our lives. I have also training in specific approaches, like CBT, psychodynamic therapy and EMDR. Lately I have focused more on working with PTSD and traumarelated difficulties using EMDR as a method, both online and in person.
Deep and genuine connection with others is a corner stone in our lives, and working on relationships will often come up as part of therapy. I also believe that one of the most important relationships in our lives is the relationship we have with ourselves. Getting to know our own yearnings and motivations can lead to lasting change and growth.
Having lived in three different countries, I have had my own share of transitions and search for belonging. There is a rich appreciation of different cultures and people that comes from having experienced it firsthand. I currently live on Svalbard in northernmost Norway, where I work with therapy both remote and in person. Nature and the outdoors a big part of my life, specially long hikes and ski trips, complemented by creative work such as music, writing and art.
