I’m a counsellor and coach in Oslo and online worldwide, supporting couples to navigate conflict, disconnection, change, and difference with greater curiosity, compassion, and new ways of relating.
I’m Soren Stone, a counsellor and coach based in Oslo, with a particular focus on couples and relationships. I work with partners navigating recurring conflict, disconnection, intimacy, major life transitions, migration, identity, neurodivergence, and the many differences that can make loving another person both meaningful and complicated.
My own path into this work has taken me across countries, identities, communities, and different professional worlds, including many years in mental health. These experiences have shaped my appreciation for the ways relationships are influenced by culture, identity, belonging, environment, and the wider systems we live within.
I especially welcome people and relationships that don’t always see themselves reflected in traditional spaces. I’m LGBTQIA+ affirming, sex-positive, and experienced with queer and trans relationships, cross-cultural couples, polyamory and consensual non-monogamy, kink, and diverse relationship structures. I also work with individuals navigating burnout, grief, identity, belonging, and life transitions.
My approach is warm, grounded, experiential, and non-judgmental. I see relationships as living systems, shaped by each person’s needs, histories, patterns, surroundings, and ways of experiencing the world. I help couples become curious about what is happening between them and cultivate the conditions that allow greater understanding, connection, and care to grow.
My work draws from somatic awareness, mindfulness, communication practices, systems thinking, and experiential learning. In sessions, we might slow down a familiar conflict, notice what happens in each person during moments of tension, practice new ways of listening and communicating, or experiment with different ways of reaching for connection.
Couples can work with me in an ongoing, open-ended way, allowing our sessions to follow what is emerging in your relationship over time. I also offer a more structured pathway through Tending the Relationship Garden, my experiential couples course, which combines guided practices, reflection, communication, and nature-inspired ways of exploring your relationship as an ecosystem. This can be experienced through private guided work or in a group setting.
Whichever path you choose, I deeply trust the intelligence each person and relationship brings into the room. My role is to offer a steady space where you can listen more closely to yourselves, one another, and what is happening between you—and discover together what your relationship may be asking for.
