I’m Dr. Emanuele Cosimo Altomare, psychologist, neuroscientist, and founder of Level Up Academy. My professional path is driven by one mission: to make neuroscience practical and transformative, helping people and organizations understand how the brain shapes behavior, emotions, and growth.
After earning my Ph.D. in Neuroscience, I deepened my expertise through international research experiences in Finland and Los Angeles, exploring how neuroplasticity and cognitive flexibility influence motivation and change. In December, I will complete my specialization in Psychological Assessment and Counselling at Sapienza University of Rome, which also grants my qualification as a licensed psychotherapist.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked across clinical, corporate, and educational settings, combining scientific rigor with a human-centered vision. I founded Level Up Academy to bring together neuroscience, psychology, and coaching into one integrated ecosystem for development. My work ranges from clinical interventions and psychological evaluation to high-impact corporate programs in leadership, performance, and emotional intelligence.
I’m also the author of “Brain@Work”, a book that explores the mechanisms behind personal transformation through the lens of neuroscience. Every chapter translates complex brain science into accessible tools for daily life, because understanding your mind is the first step toward mastering it.
My approach blends evidence-based science with empathy, clarity, and creative thinking. I believe every mind can evolve, and that even small shifts in awareness can unlock profound change. Whether in therapy, coaching, or organizational development, I aim to activate measurable, brain-informed transformation, helping people move from insight to action, from knowing to becoming.
My clinical and coaching approach is rooted in neuroscience and guided by evidence-based frameworks such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT).
Each method contributes a specific dimension: CBT brings structure and cognitive clarity, helping to identify and reframe maladaptive patterns; DBT enhances emotional regulation and distress tolerance through mindfulness and balance; ACT fosters psychological flexibility and alignment with personal values; CFT nurtures self-compassion, reducing shame and self-criticism while strengthening resilience.
What unites these models is their grounding in the science of the brain, particularly neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to reorganize itself through experience and learning. By combining these approaches, my interventions aim to create long-term, measurable change at both cognitive and emotional levels.
In therapy, I work with adults and couples to address anxiety, emotional dysregulation, trauma-related intimacy issues, compulsive behaviors, and self-esteem difficulties. In coaching, I collaborate with leaders and teams to enhance motivation, performance, and communication, applying the same neuroscientific principles in organizational contexts.
My approach is deeply collaborative and human-centered. I don’t see the client as a “case,” but as a dynamic system capable of self-correction and growth once awareness and the right cognitive tools are in place. I integrate psychoeducation, mindfulness-based practices, and brain-informed feedback to empower clients to become active agents in their own evolution.
Ultimately, my work is about helping people and organizations activate their inner architecture of change, shifting from autopilot to conscious, compassionate, and effective living.
