I am a psychologist working with adults and couples facing life transitions, anxiety, stress, and relationship challenges.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Clinical psychology. I obtained both of my degrees in the Netherlands (University of Groningen & Erasmus University Rotterdam). Therefore, my qualification is from the Netherlands, but I am currently in the process of obtaining recognition of my diploma in Greece as well. During my studies I interned in a psychiatric hospital in Finland, where I gained useful experience in working with people who suffer from severe mental health disorders. It is there where I gained insight into the important role emotion regulation and relationships play in mental health.
In my private practice I wish to focus on preventative care. I believe it is important to address mental health issues through early intervention. I am also an expat myself, and have lived in 6 different countries, which means that I have personal understanding about the difficulties and challenges living abroad brings.
Overall, in my private life I am passionate about self-development, meditation and fostering meaningful relationships. These values have guided my career-interests as well - I believe everyone can have potential for positive change with the right support.
My approach to individual therapy is warm, practical, and client-centred. I support clients in developing emotion regulation skills, understanding themselves more deeply, and exploring the beliefs and patterns that may be contributing to distress. I combine emotional support with practical tools that can help improve wellbeing and make everyday challenges feel more manageable. My work with individuals is based on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) principles.
In couples therapy, I aim to offer a safe and supportive space where both partners can feel heard and understood. We work together to improve communication, explore underlying relationship patterns, and address the present challenges. My couples work is mainly based on Emotionally Focused Therapy principles, alongside CBT principles.
I see therapy as a collaborative process. Setting meaningful and actionable goals together is often an important part of my work, both in individual and couples sessions.
During my studies I worked as an intern in a Psychiatric hospital in Finland. Additionally, as a part of my education I followed practical courses (with real-life cases) in CBT, couples therapy and sexuality.
