I’m a Portuguese psychologist active in the field of psychology since 2009. I started as a social worker in Portugal, having in 2011 emigrated to Belgium. In Brussels, I worked for 13 years as a psychologist in the social and mental health sector in Brussels, with both French and English speaking community. Today, I’m thrilled to call Portugal my new home again.
My work and life in Brussels has led me to specialise in issues relating to immigration and trauma. Like no other, I understand the unique challenges of living abroad, loneliness, identity questions, and how it can impact your emotions, relationships, and overall well-being.
Due to my professional, personal and family experience, I'm particularly keen of working with an immigrant/expat population. My master's degree was obtained through an in-dept study on bi-cultural couples, their challenges, fragilities, and, of course, strengths: "So, what's for dinner tonight?" Agreement and decision-making in bicultural couples.
