I am a medical doctor with a postgraduate degree in Psychiatry from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. I have diverse experience in mental health, and my practice takes into account the cultural, emotional, and environmental dimensions that influence each person, especially during times of transition and adaptation. I provide services in Portuguese, offering practical tools to help navigate emotional challenges and promote well-being. I moved to Northern Portugal a few years ago, and it’s here that I am now based. My own experience has proven invaluable when working with expatriates, as I understand the challenges of isolation, the need for meaningful connections, and the unsettling difficulty of integration. The diversity of my training has helped me develop a cross-cultural adaptability. Welcome, this is a space of empathetic and respectful support for a more balanced and fulfilling life.
My approach to care is grounded in a warm, person-centered approach, where I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals to express themselves freely. I prefer to draw from a combination of different theories, as I believe that ‘one size does not fit all.’ Solution-focused techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and behavioral analysis all play a role in helping to understand and alleviate psychological distress.
