I'm Diana, a native English-speaking counsellor providing support for ADHD/AuDHD/HSP women, mothers and parents. I am a Registered Counsellor with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and support adults in the areas of neurodivergence, parenthood, burnout, and work-life balance.
(Note: I also provide counselling for other challenges. If you feel from my profile that we might be a good fit, please feel free to reach out).
I am based in Rome and also see clients online in Berlin, Amsterdam, the UK, and Hong Kong, among others.
I am from a mixed international background (Dutch and Malaysian-Chinese), grew up in various different countries, and am a mum to two primary-school-aged children.
I am passionate about helping neurodivergent adults and parents to live with less friction and more fulfillment.
Do you relate to any or several of the following?
👉 Managing your own ADHD/AuDHD/HSP while parenting and managing the demands of life
👉 Exhausted from keeping multiple spinning plates in the air
👉 Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or burnt out
👉 Feelings of frustration, embarrassment, discouragement or shame when things don’t go as planned
👉 Feeling like others have it more ‘together’
👉 Possibly parenting neurodivergent, high needs or highly sensitive children
👉 Struggling to get enough self-care
👉 Awareness that you have significant resourcefulness, grit, and creativity, but feeling like you keep getting stuck/blocked.
👉 Being or looking ‘successful' in parts of your life but experiencing a high level of stress.
👉 Having goals or a vision for how you would like your life to look but feeling they are always slightly out of reach because of the demands of daily life.
In our counselling sessions, I support you in identifying, accepting and effectively meeting your unique personal needs, which is the key to being able to show up for and thrive in the various parts of your life that are important to you, while caring for yourself.
I also support you to:
👉 Structure your days/weeks to work for your brain (and your family's brains)
👉 Set realistic boundaries and communicate these more effectively
👉 Live in ways that work specifically for *you* and your family (resisting social pressures/comparison)
👉 Process and reduce feelings of shame and embarrassment
👉 Process and make sense of your feelings, worries, doubts, self-criticism, and any difficult past experiences
👉 Identify and tap into into what inspires and energizes you
👉 Apply focus, consistency, and prioritization strategies that work for *you* uniquely
👉 Set up realistic, neurodivergent-friendly systems (not the ones usually advised)
👉 Lean into your human right to do things imperfectly and do what matters most to you
👉 Explore, identify, and make decisions in line with your goals and values
My counselling style is open-minded, human, real, collaborative, and supportive, with (when appropriate) a warm sense of humour.
I am a neurodiversity affirmative counsellor, meaning that I don't see ADHD/AuDHD/HSP as disorders or conditions, but as names for some of the many human 'neurotypes' - or really, just some of the many ways human brains work. This is why in addition to providing support to manage challenges and tap into strengths, I also provide support to build confidence to live life in ways that respect and suit your natural ways of being.
