I’m Ekin, a clinical psychosexologist offering online sessions in English and Turkish. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychosexology from Sapienza University of Rome and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychological Science from the University of Padua.
My academic and professional journey has focused on the complexities of human sexuality, identity, and how these intersect with culture and mental health. Through my training, I’ve explored how gender dysphoria is understood and managed across different cultural settings, how early parent-child dynamics influence emotional development, and how multicultural identity can impact one’s sense of belonging and wellbeing. These experiences continue to inform my clinical work, helping me stay attuned to the broader systems and internalized beliefs that shape each person’s experience of themselves, their relationships, and the world around them.

I approach therapy through a biopsychosocial-cultural lens, meaning I consider how your thoughts, emotions, physical wellbeing, relationships, and the cultural or social environments you move through shape your experience. This includes the internalized beliefs we carry, the roles we’ve learned to play, and the impact of navigating multiple or intersecting identities, both consciously and unconsciously.
My work is integrative, with a foundation in cognitive-behavioral therapy. We begin by exploring how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected—and how certain patterns may be affecting your day-to-day life. Together, we’ll develop tools to help you manage distress, while also getting curious about what these patterns might be communicating beneath the surface.
Depending on your needs—and how you respond to different ways of working—I may draw from systemic, psychoanalytic, or existential approaches. Integrative therapy isn’t about applying a fixed method or simply reducing symptoms. It’s about finding what resonates with you in making sense of your experiences. That might include exploring how your early relationships or cultural background have shaped how you relate to others, gently bringing unconscious emotional patterns into awareness, or reflecting on questions around meaning, identity, and direction.
The process is flexible and collaborative—always centered around what feels most relevant, helpful, and meaningful for you.

An English-taught, inter-university programme offering advanced clinical training in sexuality, gender identity, and sexual health through an biopsychosocial lens. Coursework included psychodynamic theories, sexual development, clinical counseling, psychoendocrinology, psychopharmacology, and the assessment and treatment of sexual dysfunctions and trauma. I developed practical skills in clinical interviewing, case formulation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. My dissertation explored the cross-cultural clinical management of gender dysphoria and the influence of gender perceptions on healthcare and education policies.
